Magda Lukas is an artist residing in Cork, Ireland. She is an emerging artist known for vibrant acrylic paintings that dance the line between real and abstract. As a photographer by trade, she has spent countless hours on her computer poring over photography. In 2015 she discovered that painting not only allows her to delve back into a more tactile world, but also allows her to create scenes in radical colors that no photo could capture. Her work is light and fresh and the compositions are a delicate balance of winding layers of colour. Magda’s technique responds to naturally occurring patterns.
Current work
The foundation of my current body of work lies in the arts of Suminagashi and Ebru, emanating from Japan and Turkey centuries ago are both evident in our inaugural collection.
We created the process of fusing together the unseen and the seen so that they are now inseparable. Colour, Water, Air, Emotions... We are not trying to define any ideas. We just allowing the natural flow of creation to express it self...
